After careful consideration, I decided to treat Hopeton to a shopping spree.

2009 –  Pre-Panama Socialization

Mundo’s people started trickling in at around 7:30. 

And these were definitely Mundo’s people- a little late, a little loud and very friendly.

Mistou and I had been parlaying for a few days.

Monday after the Norwood drinks thing, I went to work and gave my two-weeks’ notice.

“Just make sure you make me happy I said yes,” Mistou said before making a kissy sound and hanging up on me. 

2009 –  Soft Landing

Today was the big day- Mistou and Anali were flying in to JFK.

“You’re acting like you’ve never had a girlfriend before, Pierre,” Hopeton said.

“Truthfully,” I said, “I don’t date.”

She  gave me a skeptical look and took a slow sip of wine.

“Well, at least now I believe you meant it when you said you didn’t have anyone in New York to ask,” Mistou teased, lightly.

“Don’t forget check-out is at two tomorrow and we need to be at the airport by four,” Mistou called after Anali. 

Then she turned to me and said, “I want to see your apartment.”

“That good?” Hopeton asked.
