CHAPTER SEVENTEEN
2000 – Kite’m Tonbe
Driving back to Clinton Hill, I put in 1010 WINS. Newsflash- the world was falling apart.
I briefly let my mind drift to Eula. That girl didn’t deserve what happened to her- she hated guns as much as I did. She straight up told me she didn’t want them in her house and I made her take them. And I foisted Biz on her ass, too. All because her man, Mundo, told me to run it like that. Doe fucked that girl every day for a year and then he fucked her. And he fucked me, too.
I needed to get out. None of this was good. Once I flipped this garage I was done.
I got back to my nice, safe, well-decorated two-bedroom apartment on the second floor of a well-maintained brownstone. Life was good, right?
What the fuck was I doing with my life?
I took a hot shower, brushed my teeth like a good boy and threw myself into bed- Mundo’s bed.
I did not want this life.
I prayed for sleep to take me.
Bondye, tanpri kite’m tonbe nan dòmi.
