CHAPTER SIXTY

2003- Tighten Up

My cozy birthday with Donya reignited my interest in shibari and inspired me to do a little exploring- strictly for personal growth.

I mean, I was living across the hall from a fully equipped, sadly underutilized playroom.  And that playroom did have a treasure trove of shiny new rope kits, suspension rings and swivel hooks.  I got in there and grabbed the prettiest rope I could find.

But sad to say, it only took a few fumbling attempts at the most basic tanzen musubi for me to admit to myself that I sucked.

So, I turned to the world wide web for guidance.  All I had to do was go back to my bedroom and boot up my Gateway desktop.

I went online and asked Jeeves to show me websites that would help me learn some new shibari techniques.

Scrolling through the results, I saw a link to Midori's website, which seemed to contain diagrams for the types of knot configurations I was looking for.

Getting back into the saddle meant doing the knowledge.

I settled in for a long night of study.
